Historical Sites
History buffs are going to love the Wilmington Area historical sites. There are three amazing educational and fun sites that are perfect for the whole family. Fort Fisher is one of the amazing North Carolina historical sites. Here you can see the remains of the Cold War fort and an impressive reconstruction of a 32-pound seacoast gun at Shepard’s Battery. Moore’s Creek National Battlefield is also one of the nearby Historical sites. This battlefield held one of the many battles of the American Revolutionary War and its victory was the first one of significance for the patriots. Lastly, one of the first fast Battleships to join the American fleet in World War II was the USS North Carolina.
