Very clean and comfortable. The toilets were a bit low and one tended to run, and porch lights didn’t work, but otherwise we were satisfied. We would stay there again.

We loved our stay! The condo was perfect for our family, well taken care of and clean. Great location!

Great location. Great time. Had a problem with the exterminators busting in unexpected while my daughter was alone in the condo, and we were on the beach. She was very upset and scared. Honestly, this should be done in between rentals. It was an invasion of privacy, plus, no one likes being exposed to fresh bug spray. We are there for fresh beach air. We come yearly to Kure, but we will not be back to Ocean Dunes due to this invasion.

Sherry, We apologize for this intrusive. Typically the HOA provides us with a schedule of the pest control so that we are able to inform guests that they will be by so there are no surprise. The treatment is non-toxic and safe for pets and babies. We hope the remainder of your stay was wonderful.

We absolutely loved staying at the Gardner @ Ocean Dunes in Kure Beach. The location is great, the views were magnificent, boardwalk access next to unit. Beach was empty, and we set up right in front of unit every day, all beach gear was safe to leave for hours, and visible from deck. Unit was quiet, we didn't really hear the neighbors. Parking is coverered, includes a hose to rinse sand off. We felt very safe leaving our beach items in the 'car port' along with the top off the Jeep for our entire stay. The rental was very clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen, most items were new, bathrooms are roomy with nice counter space. Livingroom was roomy with 2 side chairs, an oversized chair that converts to a twin sleeper and a very comfy sofa sleeper. We used an extra set of sheets and covered them to add a little more protection from a toddler. Deck is large (we did get some splinters from it though), and accessible from livingroom & master. There wasn't a screendoor for the master, so listening to the ocean while sleeping wasn't possible. The livingroom screendoor was broken and maintenance was quick to try and repair it, unfortunately it needed replacing, hopefully future guests will have new screendoors. Other than the screendoors, the only negative was the washer/dryer, very old and due to age, didn't clean clothes or towels very well. Used one pool and it was very clean. We would have liked to do a morning workout in the fitness room, but it doesn't open until 9am. We did not have time to use the indoor pool or hot tub. WE LOVED OUR STAY AND WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful energy around this part of Kure Beach, due doubtless to the presence of the nearby State Park. The complex is only two stories so there is little disturbance from other guests. This unit is on the second story so there are quite a few steps to climb... good exercise! The unit was compact but well designed so the living area and the main bedroom had sea views, the oceanside porch is partitioned from the neighbors so there is good privacy. The property was clean but furnishings are dated some of the electric outlets in the bedroom sparked. However, everything in the kitchen cabinets and drawers needs a good clean out of excess odds and ends and a deep cleaning of every item. There are many items that are not really needed yet there was little room for food. Some important every day items such as a toaster, salad servers, a new grater ... were missing. We were comfortable there, watching the storms at night and the proximity to Fort Fischer was fantastic. The property managers were very responsive and helpful.

Hot tub was closed. Pool was very cold for being a heated pool. Was across the road. Courts were all cracked. House was ok. View was nice. Bed frame needs to be replaced. Creeks.

Fall break vacation in Kure Beach

Our stay at Gardner was great. Condo was clean and well stocked with items you would need for a week stay. One major issue (safety issue) we found was a couple boards on the landing to our condo needed replacing. Boards were very soft and if stepped on could cause them to break in turn hurting that person. This was reported to the HOA and was replaced very quickly, (thank you to the neighbor who owns the condo next to ours and she helped). The condo itself could use some updates as the stove only had 3 of the four burners working. It is an older stove that has the coil burners. A glass top stove would be a nice replacement and they are easier to clean. The screens on the sliding doors needed to be replaced. One was missing completely and the other would not close as it was damaged. The TV in the master bedroom was confusing on how to use it. Would be nice to have some simple instructions.
Overall our stay was great. The above mentioned items would not stop me from renting Gardner again.

My family stayed at the condo for a week at the end of June. We had a wonderful time. The condo while older was very nice and had the most amazing view. The location was perfect too. So convenient for the beach and in a very family friendly non-crowded area. Would definitely recommend and will be back again soon.

I do not want this posted on site!!!! It is our opinion and I do not want someone to not rent based on my feedback. This is our third year at this rental. However, this time it was not as clean as we have come to expect. Several nails are sticking out on balcony that could cause injury. Just showing signs of wear and tear that give a somewhat dirty appearance. I know it must be hard to keep things perfect at a rental but it has given us reason to possibly look for another condo. The updated has been in the listing since we first rented and may be somewhat misleading. Once again my opinion do not post on site!!!!

This property is located right at the beach. Wonderful balcony to sit and watch at the ocean (the balcony can be accessed from the master bedroom or from the living room). However, needs a lot of upgrades. To mention some: in the master bedroom: the windows are stained (obstructing the view); door can't be shut completely, lamp shade stained. In bathrooms: cabinets stained with rust, faucets looking old. Kitchen: too many pots, some in bad shape. Don't use tea kettle (rusty also). These are minor upgrades that can be easily done. Also... be careful with a chair on the balcony (about to fall apart); I think this last one raises a safety concern. Sheets are the worse quality (take your own if you care about this). The process of renting and receiving info was excellent (very efficient. Thanks!)

The location of the unit was perfect! We loved being oceanfront. The unit itself could use some TLC, with some updates and a deep cleaning this unit could be really nice. The sliding glass door in the master is damaged which blocks views of the ocean (kind of defeats the purpose). One of the lampshades in the master has mold on it. The bed in the master has tall posts which block the tv if you’re on the left side of the bed. The full size sleeper sofa wouldn’t open, called maintenance, no reply!

The location and view are awesome. There are a few issues with the condo. There is an over abundance of cookware which leaves no room for food. The door in the bedroom needs replaced as you can't see the beautiful view through the damaged glass. Overall, we really enjoyed our stayed. It's steps from the ocean. Most of the local attractions were closed, but we were able to take the ferry to Southport. Lots of interesting shops there.

We had an amazing week in Kure Beach. The location was perfect. We loved being on the beach and liked being close to the pool as well. The condo could use some updating and the wifi was horrible. My children were not able to attend virtual summer school due the the poor wifi. Oy.

I understand that you have a strict 4 pm check in because of the cleaning process between renters. When we finally got to get into the rental after getting completely soaked one of our children needed a shower because of potty training and having to sit in the car, when we got her in the shower that was still full of the last renters left over toiletries. My niece yelled from the hallway that the baby was chocking. Thankfully he was not, but when I retrieved the bud light bottle cap out of his mouth. You can probably tell that by this point I was a little angry because we HAD to wait until 4 because of strict cleaning needs. Also, while I know the bad weather had nothing to do with our rental, when there was a bit of sunshine on Sunday we went out on the balcony to quickly go back in because several of the boards were soft or bowed up.

Place was outdated, Wi-Fi did not work had to go outside to make calls. I fixed the sliding screen door. We had no idea of where the hot tub or inside pool were. There was a hole behind the door. Outlet near the dining table was bad Place was clean. The view is awesome. The toilet paper and soap holders were coming off the wall.

We absolutely loved the location of this condo. It is right on the beach. The view from the balcony is fabulous. The unit was very clean when we arrived. It had plenty of space for our family of 4. It was just what we wanted for our beach vacation. The only negative is the unit could use a bit of updating. There were dents in the walls from doors and older kitchen and bathroom fixtures. None of this bothered us though. We were there for the beach!

We liked the location, unit was clean. Needs some maintenance at the wet bar area. This is a third floor walk up which was not mentioned. This proved to be somewhat of a pain with a lot of extras you had to bring because the unit provides nothing. The view is amazing. Beds were comfortable. Once we got in the unit I had no idea how to get to the club house pool grill area so we didn’t use it.

We enjoyed Kure beach; it's more quiet and family friendly. The condo was decent, but very old/outdated. The owner tried to "update" the kitchen cabinets with contact was peeling off. There were tiny ants in the kitchen. We didn't like the 10am check out time with no flexibility. Next time we'll just get a hotel.

We appreciate your response. This owner takes great pride in her unit and hired a decorator to come down to update her unit. The units are sprayed once a month for pest, I wish you had notified us, we would have sent one of our maintenance team down to set out bates or spray for you. Had a great August vacation at Carolina Beach! This property is right on the ocean, so the deck has an amazing view. When it was time to head to the beach, it was down two flights of stairs and a 30 second walk to be on the beach. This is great when you have young children with lots of things to carry. 4 stars for Bryant because we turned in the keys on Friday afternoon (to avoid Saturday traffic), then we were called on Saturday morning reminding us of checkout. A quick call to remind them that we checked out on Friday resolved the issue.

When first arriving (after SO much traffic 4 hours later than expected), the condo looked much smaller than pics showed. Table on deck in pic looked rectangular but was actually square, for example. The view was incredible and the beach was not busy but still watched over by lifeguards. Locations was awesome. vacation was very nice due to great weather and location of rental unit however the unit was very old and dated and definitely needs upgrading; could not sit on furniture as it was dirty; sliding glass door was not working but we used soap so it could slide. Unit needs to be repainted and updated; I wiped every thing down with cleaners but it still did not feel fresh; I was glad I brought my own towels; bath mats and linens. Needs more coffee mugs. we enjoyed the beach and the bike paths and the restaurants in Carolina Beach and Wilmington were very good for local seafood.

Unfortunately we didn't have such a great experience. I was actually going to call but I will inform you of our concerns here. We arrived on Saturday, unpacked and had some dinner. We tried to get on the internet only to realize it wasn't working. As we tried to go to bed we realized there were slats missing that were going to let the sunlight come in. I called Pam to inform her of the internet, slats and also towel racks falling off of the wall. To top this all off is the fact we found **** Roaches in the unit the first night. Steve brought out a few bug traps and said that would take care of it. It did not. We had another instance when the internet didn't work as well as finding more roaches. I must admit our stay with Bryant Realty this year was not good. We have stayed with Bryant several times over the years and this was by far the worst of all. When a family pays almost $1700 for a week's stay the least a company can do is provide a bug free unit that has the amenities that were stated in the listing.

This is a great location if you want to experience a quiet secluded area only minutes from some good restaurants and tourist attractions. We had to deal with some damage from Hurricane Irma on the beach. Also the previous tenants put the dishes away dirty (one pan had leftover scrambled egg caked on it). Also, one of the showers had not been cleaned. Overall, though a nice relaxing vacation.

"Gardner" is a 2 bedroom, 2nd floor oceanfront condo perfect for a family of 6. The street-side bedroom features two Twin beds and the primary bedroom is oceanfront with a Queen bed. The living area (with a Full sleeper sofa) faces the ocean with great views of the Atlantic.

Ocean Dunes is an ideal year-round vacation spot for families! Located at the southern end of Pleasure Island, in Kure Beach next to Historic Fort Fisher, Ocean Dunes occupies one mile of beachfront with several private beach walkways. Included with your reservation is access to all the amenities Ocean Dunes offers, as well as the Recreation Center. Amenities include three outdoor pools, a children's playground, tennis courts, a basketball court and a shuffleboard court. The Recreation Center has an indoor pool, whirlpool/spa, gym, saunas, and showers.
