Several things to note: House was great for a large family, we would stay again. The top deck off the master had no furniture to sit on-empty deck! The gas grill is EXTREMELY dangerous-gas coming out of the value while cooking-needs to be replaced immediately! First day of rental, the air compressor? had to be replaced-workmen in and out of the house all day unannounced. One actually went upstairs while my daughter was in her bed and used her bathroom-UNACCEPTABLE! they were messy and uncertain we were there! We survived IAN, very little to no communication about it but we are familiar with hurricanes and knew what to do! Better communication from agency and house needs a little love for next year!

Thank you Claudia for bringing these issues to our attention. I do see where the A/C vendor was there during your stay to repair the A/C unit that wasn't working and I apologize that it couldn't be arranged while you weren't staying there but it would have been quite unpleasant without a working A/C. I will put in a service request for the leaking gas grill because I don't see that you called to report that while you were there. I will report your suggestion to add furniture to the upper deck. With the beautiful view of the sound I agree this would be a great bonus to have furniture on all of the decks. Thank you again for your suggestions and we hope you will return to Sunny Side again in the future!

I prevously gave a review but am glad to do it again. We very much enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room for our family to each have their own bedroom and bath. Large family room/kitchen area was large , comfy and nice furnished. Only recommendation was to update tv status and put in a much larger one with more viewing options.
other than that, we were delighted to have the space and bedrooms with water right out back and ocean across the street. :0) We will keep this one in our book for places which we would like to rent again. :0)

What an amazing vacation for our entire family. Perfect location. This home is very well designed for a large family with room for all to spread out. The cozy decor allows all ages to get away and the large open great room/kitchen area provides the ideal space for all to gather for meals, etc. Deck is front/center for watching boats or relaxing morning and night. Our family enjoyed wading in the inlet in the evenings after playing on the beach. We hope to have the opportunity to revisit so that the grandparents can come along again! We enjoyed having everyone together this year. Wonderful memories made!

This house works perfectly for our family. Our third year and we had a great time. Best location to enjoy the Holiday Flotilla and the fireworks. A lot of money has been spent on kitchen upgrades. Fridge is a little undersized, but the two stoves more than handles our Thanksgiving Feast. Back for Four? Probably.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Side. Plenty of space and we especially appreciated the multiple hang out spaces, including the quiet reading room at the front of the house, the loft area on the third floor, and the large living room on the main level. We also liked the large dining table and spacious kitchen which more than accommodated our group.
The room layout was great for our family. There are some design quirks - like the glass door into the primary bedroom and the lack of blinds on the windows in the primary bedroom. I do understand the desire to maximize the views to the Sound, which were fabulous! Bathrooms are a little dated but no issues at all. The location is the best - with a short walk to the beach, Sunday, South End and Oceanic.

I'm unsure about your comment regarding lack of blinds - every window in the house has blinds except for the ones in the stairs so there should be ample privacy in each bedroom, living room, and dining area. I will make note for desired upgrades in the bathrooms and pass that along to the owners for review - we work closely with them during the off season to encourage improvements! Overall, the property was wonderful! The location was amazing and we'd definitely stay here again. There were a couple issues with burnt out light bulbs in some of the bathrooms.

Sunny Side was in a great location and the sound side dock was perfect for our boys who love to fish. The layout of the house was good for us, with one bedroom on the main floor and four on the second floor. We went later in the season, so the house was showing its wear from the quick turn around times and rental use, so some of the high touch points were a little grimy. The kitchen was mostly well appointed, but was missing a couple of basics (cheese grater and pizza cutter some to mind).
One thing for future renters to note: The owners of this property revoked our reservation 3 weeks before our scheduled stay. I had booked it 9 months in advance. While we were able to get it reinstated, the 3 days of panic trying to find another place that could house all of us wasn't worth it. We were going to have to book at another beach since nothing was available in WB and we had already made camp, fishing and kayaking reservations at WB. Bryant Real Estate did their absolute best and worked with the owner to relocate their last minute vacation instead of ousting us. I will continue to work with Bryant for future rentals, but will not rent this particular house again simply due to the property owners.

Glad to hear the layout worked perfectly with the many spacious rooms and bathrooms throughout. The kitchen is fully stocked with all our required items and quantity to occupancy. We do not require items like pizza cutters since those are more specialty items, but do stock them at our beach office if there ever is a need for them! Give us a call next time and we can run any items down you may need. We are so sorry to hear about the canceling of your reservation and the stress it caused your family. Unfortunately with vacation rentals, the owners reserve the right to use their property and as stated in the contract we have the right to move you or cancel based on a number of circumstances which is never something we like to do. We are overjoyed that she had a change of heart and your family was able to come as planned and have a wonderful vacation. Bryant was able to help us check in earlier than 4:00 PM which was so wonderful because of all of the different schedules of our guests. I can't thank them enough for the great customer service. It made the beginning of our vacation so much easier! The boat dock is great because we bring a pontoon boat for the week and it's such a great location. The communication process Bryant provides is exceptional and keeps you up-to-date with all aspects of the rental. I think this was around our 7th - 8th time renting the property and it is a wonderful experience.

The house is well kept, everything in good repair, beds comfortable, well stocked kitchen. The location is great for little kids as it has its on little beach on the bay at low tide as well as a dock.

This home is very spacious, much bigger than it looks in the pictures! We had plenty of room to spread out. The location is great, right on the water and a very short walk to the beach. We loved the little sandy beach by the dock when the tide was down.

Everything about the property was terrific but for one lone exception. No internet! Whether it had been cancelled or simply interrupted was never clearly answered and it remained out for the entire week. A black eye on a pretty face.

First, the location is wonderful with a lovely yard that leads to your own dock. The upper and lower decks overlook the sound and you can literally spend all day watching the boats pass by. The masterbedroom is amazing with a deck leading off which is perfect for a sunset cocktail. The other bedrooms are much smaller by comparison.

The main living area is lovely and the dining table can seat about a dozen people. The kitchen is just off the main living area. It's the only part of the rental we didn't just love. Great space, but not much cooking equipment provided. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, I would bring a few of your favorite things. The grill worked well though. Plus, you're within walking distance to the Oceanic restaurant, which is a definite plus. Overall great week in a lovely home.

The house that we have rented for the last 10 years was taken off the market. So we picked this home.
The house has a great open layout. It definitely shows its age. However it was clean. The master is super bight and very warm. I had to go buy blackout shades. For some reason we didn't have more than about a foot of sandy beach. The day we left there was a larger area of beach. Maybe just a strange tide the 9 days that we stayed. We had no internet for about a week. That was difficult as I had 2 students trying to turn on assigments. The dock was new and really nice. We loved all the decks. We are looking forward to returning.

This was mostly a beautiful house, located in a beautiful spot.

There were a few issues, internet out, finding the location (GPS does not get you there), some plugs not working.

Sunny side was a wonderful place to host all of the activities prior to our daughter's wedding. The open living space inside and out fit our needs perfectly.
Parking is limited but for us that was a minor issue that we made work. The view is absolutely breathtaking. It also was a great place for children to play outside with supervision. Would love to stay there again.

Sunnyside is in an awesome South Wrightsville location! A quick walk to the beach, The Oceanic and South End Surf Shop. The house has plenty of room for multiple families with kids and low tide provides your very own private beach in front of the house. This is the only house we have ever rented more than once, it is perfect for us and what we want out of our vacation.

Ideal location, plenty of space for our family, lovely interior. If repairs are made to some of the windows and to the steps going down into the sound, everything will be great. We plan to stay here next summer. We are "beach" people, so unless it is raining, we are either over at the beach, enjoying paddle boarding, kayaking, or goofing around in the sound. Would be thrilled if there was a crab trap! For inside time, we appreciated having several different surfaces for games and/or crafts, as well as TVs (DVDs). Also relieved for access to internet, a necessity when some on vacation must still "work from home" on occasion.

We stayed at Sunny Side for 8 days in October 2015. This is a nice home with a good layout. The house is large and roomy with a nice big kitchen, living room and dining area. The views are spectacular from the large windows, the back deck and the pier. We were treated to a beautiful sunset every evening. We especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on the large back deck. The location is especially good for boaters, as it is at the south end of Banks Channel with direct access to the best fishing areas, away from the bridges.

Finding the house can be tricky as you have to pull into what appears to be a drive for another house. On check-in the house was clean. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues which Bryant addressed promptly. Although the house could use a bit of maintenance, it did not detract from our enjoyment of the house. A few issues of note: the kitchen cabinets were in a bit of disarray, with a hodge-podge of unnecessary items in the drawers and cabinets which made needed items difficult to locate. A good purge and reorganization of the kitchen would be useful. Also, the master bedroom door is a clear-glass French door, which we thought was odd as it did not allow for privacy. I would recommend blinds or curtains be installed that can be closed when privacy is needed. Finally, some of the boards on the pier are worse for wear and could use replacing for safety.

Despite these minor issues we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return.

We could hardly wait to return for a second summer. The view alone is worth every penny, especially from the master suite. However, the light comes in very early, so bring sleep masks. And there is no shade on the glass door to the hall, so bring your own stick-on shade for privacy. Having our own dock is perfect for jet skis and for fishing, but it's sad to see the neglected boat docked there. Water access for swimming and kayaking is easy, and beach access is just across the street with plenty of beach chairs, noodles,etc. available. The gas grill is handy as well. Kitchen supplies are adequate, but you have to sort through a lot of "stuff" to find what you need. Also it would be nice to have ten matching place mats and a smaller portable cutting board. The main drawback to the unit is getting to the house from the street. It's a real aggravation because the driveways are extremely narrow, and it was unclear which drive we were supposed to use. Also, the house next door was still under construction, and the drive was often blocked. The other drive, which we later found out was the one we are supposed to use, is also very narrow and has cars parked there. You really worry about getting your car through without scraping. However, once on the property, space for parking is fine. It's a beautiful place. We'd like to return next year.

Our family loves the house and its location. This was our third year as guests. Improvements to dock area were appreciated. Only thing a little irksome is lack of table linens and sharp knives, and a lot of useless items cluttering the kitchen cabinets and drawers. Also, would be nice to have shades on the doors in master bedroom. Otherwise this place is perfect.

Sunnyside was the perfect place for our multi-generational vacation. The older child enjoyed the third floor loft, and the rest of us enjoyed the spacious main living area and well-equipped kitchen. The sunset views are unparalleled, and the pier and gazebo saw some excellent fishing during our stay. Low tide allowed a private beach in front of the home which everyone enjoyed.

Once we were able to find the narrow drive leading to the house, we were awe-struck by the home's spaciousness and spectacular view. WE didn't want to leave our rocking chairs on the wide covered porch overlooking the sound. The long dock provided space for our two jet skis and could also accommodate a boat. Kayaks were available compliments of the owners. A small beach provided access to the water from the shore. Ocean beach access was very convenient just across the street. The sound view from the upstairs master suite was even more breathtaking. However, without shades on the glass door, sunlight arrived earlier than one might want to awaken on vacation. The other bedrooms and baths on the second floor were small but comfortable. The top floor TV room was a welcome getaway spot. The kitchen was plenty large enough to cook for a crowd, and the dining table seats twelve. However the cooking utensils, pans and serving pieces were in something of a hodgepodge with unnecessary items cluttering the cabinets and drawers. Also the kitchen faucet was very awkward to use. We encountered ants, especially in the kitchen, and a man came over promptly to spray, but we continued to see ants the whole week. There is plenty of parking although tricky to get in and out. These minor inconveniences in no way detracted from an overall wonderful family beach vacation, and we plan to come back.
